Clinical Librarian project

The library staff have been working with the Intensive Care Unit on a pilot project to support the clinical team in their workplace. Initially, a 'Clinical Librarian' attended the ward round once a week to find evidence for any questions that arose during the ward round. Over time, the project has changed so the librarian now visits ICU every day to see if the team have any clinical questions or literature search requests. The pilot has been running for almost three months and is now drawing to a close, after which time it will be evaluated. The project has been a fascinating experience for the library team, and we hope that the clinical staff have found it useful, too.
